What do you want?
The first step in creating the life you want is knowing what you want. And this is sometimes challenging to discover.
We might very clearly know that we want to change something in our lives. We may know what we don’t want. But how do we know what we really want?
Here is a 3 step process to help you find out:
1-Get quiet Sit in meditation for a time everyday. It can be as little as 5 minutes but do it everyday. Be still & say to yourself “I want to know what I want”. This is simple yet powerful practice. Keep at this for at least 30 days and watch what comes up for you.
2-Let go of How Having to know HOW can hold us back from living our best versions of ourselves. When people say “I don’t know what I want” often what they are really saying is “I don’t see how I can get what I want”. If you are struggling to know what you want in life then try letting go of having to know how it will happen.
3-Trust yourself Those of us who have lived through trauma often have trouble trusting ourselves. We have learned that we have to look outside ourselves for the answers. To grow we must examine our subconscious programing and teach ourselves how to trust our own intuition and inner guidance. Only you know what is best for you. Keeping small daily promises to yourself is a good way to build trust.
Be kind and gentle with yourself as you work through this process.
This is BIG work.
And know that if we were not taught play and self worth as a child might have a more difficult time figuring out what lights us up.
Get quiet. Let go of the How. Trust Yourself.
This process is worth the time it takes.
