When you take the leap, when you step outside of your comfort zone, when you finally do the thing you have been so scared to do, you are forever changed.

You become someone new.

When you DO you become a person “Who”.

There is true magic in taking action. Because once you Do the thing, you have transformed into someone who is capable of doing it again.

And the outcome of the action is irrelevant- it doesn’t matter if what you did was “successful” or you got the result you intended. It still changes you. Forever.

The trick is training yourself to remember the Who.

When you give a speech, you are now a person who can speak in public.

When you applied for a new job, you are now a person who put themselves out there.

When you asked a person out on a date, you are now a person who took a chance on love.

And you can do it again. You are a person “who”.

The action doesn’t have to be some big risk or move. Sometimes the most profound changes occur when  the ‘action” is so small, that no one sees it but you.

When you decide not to react from old beliefs, you are a person who can be emotionally regulated.

When you opt to see peace instead of struggle, you are a person who can focus on calm and contentment.

When you choose gratitude, set a boundary, name your feelings or stand up for yourself- you are forever changed. You are a person who can do those hard things.

You are a person Who.

And even if you forget sometimes, even if your hands still shake and your voice still quivers; there will never be a time when you are a person who haven’t done the thing.

You can always pull a little strength from that knowledge.

That “back pocket” power is available to you. Always.

So give yourself grace and a gentle nudge. Take the risk. Make the call. Send the email. Examine your patterns. Choose again. Just do the thing.

And you will be on the path towards real and lasting change.

When you Do, you become a person Who.
