The renowned Psychologist Carl Rogers famously said:

“The good life is a process-it is a direction not a destination.”

Meaning that the journey towards greater self-awareness & a happier, more fulfilling life is an ever evolving path to which we will never fully arrive.

We are not rushing towards some perfect arrival. Becoming our best self is a continuous process of alignment.

It is in the tiny moments that we begin to change. With every choice we head in the direction of who we want to be.

We get to choose the direction.

We can choose hope & kindness.

We can choose love over fear.

We can witness our reactions & subconscious programming.

We can challenge our beliefs.

We can choose to keep our words to ourselves.

We can step out of our comfort zones.

We can forgive others. We can forgive ourselves.

Our lives are made in moments. Tiny moments of creation. It’s a direction not a destination.

But oh we can be so very hard on ourselves. We tell ourselves that If we can just do & be enough- then one day we will reach a place where we have it all figured out.

What if we decided to give ourselves a little break, a little grace? What if we could view our life as a process, an evolving- rather than a rushing towards the destination of some perfect person who has it all together.

In every moment, with every choice - we can move in the direction of alignment with our higher self.

And as you focus on the direction, you may be challenged by self-doubt & struggle.

Some mornings the dawn of a new day will fill you with overwhelming gratitude.

And other times the heartbreak of this human experience can shake you to your core.

It’s not that we fall down that matters. It’s that we get up & keep moving in the direction of our best selves.

The Resilience is in the Rise.

Champion the try. Celebrate the setbacks. Allow all the emotions.

Just focus on the Direction. Let go of the destination. Just keep going.
